What should I watch out for on the ESP32-S3?
On N16R8 / N8R8 modules GPIO 35, 36, 37 are used by the octal PSRAM. Do not use them. GPIO 26-32 are connected to flash. GPIO 19/20 are native USB D-/D+. Using them breaks USB flashing. On CAM boards many low GPIOs are taken by the camera — check your board silkscreen. ADC2 (GPIO 11-20) is unreliable while Wi-Fi is on; prefer ADC1 (GPIO 1-10).
Is the ESP32-S3 5 V tolerant?
No. It uses 3.3 V logic. Putting 5 V on a GPIO pin can damage it; use a voltage divider or level shifter.
